  We appreciate your choosing our office for an orthodontic evaluation and want to let you know what to expect when we see you. At your initial visit with Dr. Duffin, Dr. Adams or Dr. Gimlen, a complimentary digital panorex is usually taken. This x-ray shows all the teeth on one film and is different from the x-rays taken at your general dentist. It allows the doctor to give you better information on your — or your child's — teeth. A thorough oral exam and review of the panorex will enable the doctor to give you his professional recommendations regarding your orthodontic care (what type of treatment, if any, is needed; when it would start; how long treatment will be; etc.). Your dentist is part of your dental team, so we will also communicate with him or her regarding our treatment recommendations for you. If treatment is indicated, any treatment options and their cost will also be discussed at this visit. There is no charge for this appointment, the panorex or the doctor's evaluation.
